If you have the VX520 terminal and see the error message “DATAWIRE ERROR -1007”:
You need to update your software. This can only be done in a call with Cayan. If you do not have time to wait on the line right now, please switch to dial-up credit card processing and call Cayan later. Please note that dial-up credit card transactions may be slower than normal transactions. Directions to switch are below.

Directions for changing from IP to dial-up communication:

Important: To use the dial-up connection, you must connect your VX520 terminal to a dedicated analog phone line.
  1. From the SoftPay home screen, press 6 on the keypad. (The SoftPay home screen displays the Sale, Refund, and Void options).
  2. Press F4 (Communications), then press F2 (View).
  3. Press F3 (Edit), then F2 (Next) until the bottom left of the screen displays “New: Dial.”
  4. Press F3 (Select).
  5. Press F2 (Next) three times until the screen displays “FDMS Settle Comm.”
  6. Press F3 (Edit), then F2 (Next) until the bottom left of the screen displays “New: Dial.”
  7. Press F3 (Select).
  8. Press Cancel three times to return to the SoftPay home screen.
Note: Dial-up transactions may run slower than IP transactions.
