What a difference a year makes!
Sure, some things about Black Friday stay the same -- the deals and the crowds were there this year as they always are. But for those of us monitoring payments, the changes in 2016 were massive. At this time last year, EMV adoption was just beginning, accounting for less than 1% of all transactions -- this year it was more than half. Mobile pay use has doubled year over year. And magstripe continues its slow fade, although it's not gone just yet.
