Cayan Selected as a 2015 US-Ireland Top 50 Company

Cayan has been named a US-Ireland Top 50 Company and awarded the Transatlantic Innovation Award by The Irish Echo, the USA’s largest and most widely read Irish American weekly. The awards recognize the successful transatlantic collaboration between Cayan’s Boston and Belfast offices. Cayan was presented the awards at the US-Ireland Top 50 Companies luncheon at the New York New Belfast conference at Fordham University on June 5th, 2015.

The Transatlantic Innovation Award was one of seven special recognition awards given at the  ceremony. The Irish Echo described the award as a tribute to “Cayan’s success in becoming a world leader in payment tech.” Other achievements that factored into the decision included the rapid growth of Cayan’s operations and headcount in both the US and Ireland, as well as Cayan’s recent rebranding campaign earlier this year.

“Cayan is committed to leading the payments industry with innovative technologies that create new possibilities for businesses,” said Henry Helgeson, CEO, Cayan. “Our office in Belfast, Northern Ireland drives all of the technology development and engineering so we can bring solutions like our Genius ® Customer Engagement Platform ® to our customers. We are thrilled to be recognized for the hard work and collaboration coming from our sister office and look forward to building on the wonderful partnerships we have in Ireland.”

While Cayan’s main operations are based in the Boston headquarters, the Belfast office is responsible for a large portion of the development and engineering that goes into the Genius Platform, a payment system that is integrated to a business’ point of sale (POS) solution and securely connects merchants with any payment technology of their choosing. The team constantly monitors new technology and engineers the connections that make it possible for businesses to use these new payment methods through Genius.

The 50 honorees were announced at a gala luncheon hosted by the Irish Echo at Fordham University on Friday June 5th 2015. The eighth annual celebration took place as part of the two day New York New Belfast conference. This prestigious event spotlights the progress and prosperity being built by the citizens of the two great cities of New York and Belfast, and looks optimistically to the future while celebrating our shared past.
